I have his army Serial number #38297460.I looked it up but only gave me basic info can anyone help with better info?I know hw got a few medals like the bronze star and such but want to find out more.

Turns out your granddad was court martialed for dereliction of potato peeling duty; later he was confined to quarters, not allowed to use dimes or nickels.
