How can i find my grandfathers WWII army records, i only have his first and last name and can i find this for free?

They will be able to look up all records. They keep the records for all WWII to present soldiers

Actually if you remember the office which held personnel records in St Louis burned down. It was in 1973. Sorry to hear about the loss of your Grandfathers records.
