Melissa O asked:
My great-grandfather, Anselmo Ricca, was fighting for the Italians during WWII. We were told by a friend of his that he deserted the army, but he was never found. During the 60s, my grandparents got a phone call asking if they were related to Anselmo Ricca, but unfortunately my aunt (who was only a toddler at the time) was the one who picked up the phone and she just hung it up. There was no caller ID then so we don’t know what that was about.

Is there anyplace that would have records about MIA Italians or that would locate a person with that name or live(d) in Italy or anywhere at all?

If your toddler aunt picked up, then hung up, the telephone, how did your grandparents know what the caller asked? Hmmmmmmmm?

You are going to have to do some digging, but here are some links that may help you.
First the Italy links at Cyndis list, the largest genealogy links page:
Second, a page with links to Ricca family genealogy pages. You might find someone related that may have more info on him:
I hope this helps!
