My late uncle, Dale James Morgan ( U.S. Army), recieved a Bronze Star presented by a general, in the field, in the Phillippines in WWII. I’ve been trying to find war records regarding him to no avail.
Any information anyone can provide me with regarding Mr. Morgan’s service would be greatly appreciated.
In everyone’s life they meet a great number of men, and a far lesser number of Great Men.
Mr. Morgan was one of those Great Men.

He was from Harlan Iowa, I thought. But it could have been Shelby Iowa, I suppose.

all i can say is good luck with your search as i am also trying to get records about my grandfather who was in the phillippines also in WWII i will let you know if i am successful and how i got it.

Most military records (of that time frame) were lost in a fire. IF his survived a person qualified under the current release policy can get a copy.
Access to Records by Veterans, Next-of-Kin, or the Veteran’s Representative
General. Copies of most military and medical records on file at NPRC (MPR), including the DD Form 214, Report of Separation (or equivalent), can be made available upon request. Veterans and next-of-kin of deceased veterans have the same rights to full access to the record. Next-of-kin are the unremarried widow or widower, son or daughter, father or mother, brother or sister of the deceased veteran

You should contact the war department and they can help you with this. they have all available records. try typing in

You mean Dale J Morgan from Shelby Iowa? (or Dale from Missouri?)

the only way your going to get anything on his records is to requrst them from the national archivies, thats what I had to do with my great uncle to find anything out
