Have WW2 memorabilia – can someone help translate German?
My great-granfather was in the German army during WW2. He came the US a year after the war. He was able to bring 2 footlockers and a few suitcases. One footlocker was in our attic. My parents never let us touch it, but recently we looked at the stuff inside. There was a lot of stuff from the war, and I don’t know what the German says. I know there’s a lot here – I don’t expect someone to translate it all. If you can translate some – Thanks!
-ORGANISATIONSBUCH DER NSDAP – red book with lots of pictures of flags and army uniforms and stuff.
-DEUTSCHE MARSCHE UND LIEDER – songbook w/ songs: “SA marschiert, SS im schwarzen Waffen-kleid, Deutschland erwache,” etc.
-A postcard that says: “Reichsparteitag Nurnberg 1934.”
-A novelty coin that says: “Reichsparteitag 1938.”
-An old record that says: “Horst Wessel Lied – Die Fahne Hoch.”
-A brown/tan army uniform with a patch that has an “A” with an “S” over it.
-A square flag that says: “15 – Nat.Soz.Deutsche Arbeiterpartei – Sturmabteilung.”
